Previcox Side Effects Reported


Previcox is a new medication for pain and there have been some reports of side effects. Consult your vet if you use this pain medication and there is vomiting or other unusual behavior.

Warning about Previcox for pain: In the past, we have had reports of serious harm or death in Bichons that had been prescribed Rimadyl. Now we are hearing of possible serious side effects to a new product call Previcox . Please note the following information that may not be provided by your veterinarian. And be aware that any dog that had serious problems with other pain drugs should NOT receive either product.

Monitor your dog for these possible side effects:

• Decrease or increase in appetite. (generally, dogs refuse food)
• Vomiting.
• Change in bowel movements (such as diarrhea, or black, tarry or bloody stools).
• Change in behavior (such as decreased or increased activity level, lack of coordination, seizure, or aggression).
• Yellowing of gums, skin, or whites of the eyes (jaundice).
• Change in drinking habits (frequency or amount consumed).
• Change in urination habits (frequency, color, or smell).
• Change in skin (redness, scabs, or scratching).
• Unexpected weight loss.
• Seizures.
