Vickie Halstead RN, CVNS, CCRN, CEN, LNC
Vickie has been actively involved in breeding and showing
Bichons since 1990. She has been a member of BFCA since 1997 and has
been chair of BFCA’s Health Committee since 2003. Also, she is a member
of Bichon Frise Club of Canada and has published articles in The
Bichon Frise Reporter. Vickie has been
practicing as a Registered Nurse since 1973, currently employed as an ER
nurse, and in the past experience in intensive care and as a flight
nurse. She also has a business involved in independent teaching of
classes for nurses and legal nurse consulting.
Anne Jones RN (retired), BSNE
Anne has been actively involved with Bichons since 1978.
Anne has served BFCA on several committees, as a board member, President
of the club (1991-1995), Chairman of the Health Committee (1996-2003)
and is still a committee member. She published BFCA Health Times and/or
has written for that publication as well as author of articles for
http://bichon.org and in The
Bichon Reporter.
Nancy McDonald RN, BSN
Nancy McDonald acquired her first show-quality Bichon
in 1982 and has been showing in conformation and obedience since that
time as well as maintaining a limited breeding program. She was
instrumental in establishing the Bichon Frise Club of Greater Houston in
1984, joined the BFCA in 1986 and was a charter member of the Bichon
Frise Club of Dallas in 1987. In 2006 she became a member of the BFCA’s
Health Committee. Nancy is a graduate of Indiana University School of
Nursing. She has worked in medical/surgical nursing, was a volunteer
with her community medical emergency service, taught first aid classes
for the Girl Scouts of America, and retired in 2002 as a surgical
assistant in a general surgery partnership.
Lisa Des Camps
Lisa has been involved in the sport of purebred dogs since 1996. Lisa
got her first Bichon Frise six years ago and has been actively involved
in showing in conformation, Obedience and breeding the Bichon Frise
since that time. She a member of the Bichon Club of America and is also
a lifetime Member of the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego. Lisa is a
contributing editor of the Pictorial Review V and has written articles
for the
Bichon Reporter. She is currently the
Executive Vice President of Galco international a sporting goods
manufacturing company. Some of her main duties include overseeing all of
the computer application software and hardware configurations as well as
maintaining 6 active websites.
Loretta D. McDonald JD
Loretta got her first Bichon twelve years ago and has been involved with
the breed since that time. She joined the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego
in 1994 and has held many positions including: President, Vice
President, Recording Secretary, Show Chairman, Trophy Chair, Editor of
the Bichon Beat and Editor of the Pictorial Five. She has been a member
of the Bichon Frise Club of America since 1999 and is starting her third
assignment as Trophy Chair. While in law school, she was on Law Review,
published two articles and won several awards for research and writing.
She also published several articles in Dogs in Review.
Paula Hendricks BSN, RN, CSN
Paula Hendricks been involved "in Bichons" for about 12 years. She
Joined the BFCA in 2007. She became interested in showing, agility and
then in breeding. The Puppies are her favorite aspect of being in the
sport of dogs. She has been working for 23 years as a Special Education
school nurse with severely mentally and physically challenged students
aged 3 to 26 years. She is married, and has three grown children. She
welcomed her first grandchild, Sasha, in January of 2007.
